Unlike most other jewelry stores, Gunderson's works directly with the finest diamond miners and cutters. What does this mean to you? It means that we have control over the quality of our dimaonds and that we pass on that quality, at a price other jewelers can't touch, directly to you.
Diamonds are the most intensively mined and most carefully graded of all gemstones. To acquire a diamond, the expertise of many skilled craftsmen is needed to mine, cut, polish and set a diamond into a piece of fine jewelry. Diamond cutting is a multi-step process. Gunderson's diamond cutters are directly involved in each step of diamond cutting.
1. Sawing and cleaving - to prepare and divide the rough diamond for cutting a specific shape into its best or ideal proportion.
2. Bruting - curving the edge of the diamond with a lathe to give it its shape.
3. Faceting - polishing each individual flat surface or facet on the diamond at precise angles to bring out its maximum brilliance.
4. Polishing - adding the final facets and putting finishing touches on the completed diamond.
Many watches are water resistant, but few are truly water proof. If you suspect that moisture or dust has entered your watch case, it is important that you have it checked by an authorized watch technician. Any attempt to repair the watch by an untrained person will most likely end up in damaging your watch further and will void factory warranties. Gunderson's has two certified watch technicians who can perform almost any repair you might need: battery changes, crystal replacement, cleaning, or complete watch restoration.
Gunderson's has a full service in-house jewelry repair facility. From sizing rings and setting gemstones to complete repairs on any type of jewelry, our experienced staff provides prompt and professional service.
Gunderson's can create a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry expecially for you. From artists rendering to finish product, our designers, gold smiths and stone setters work together to make you something very special.
Given Gunderson's background in repair and custom design work Gunderson's began to manufacture and wholesale its own line of jewelry. If you would like information about the jewelry we manufacture, please email us.
We do most of our engraving using a computerized engraving machine. With it we can engrave almost anything that is flat, from watch backs to 5" X 8" brass plates.
Our machine offers a wide variety of type style and can re-produce company logos. We also have an inside ring engraving machine.
